Independent theatre project. Grand industrial hall, black carpet covering the entire floor; dark and cold. One director, one assistant, seven actors. Metal door constantly shaken by the wind- until one point. Rehearsal: actors reading from the scripts; drafts of movement (first day in the rehearsal when they move around). I shall draw here about the warm-up (football, gymnastic and gradual getting into character), the actual rehearsal, the talk after it.
Partner: Micaela Cardoso, actress
1. Warm up
A fresh gaze at the room. There is a sort of black, large curtain on the wall and some ropes hanging down from the ceiling:
Something they shouted when chasing each other around:
Breathing exercise:
2. Rehearsal
Two cardboard rolls are enough -for now- to set up the stage. Imagine that…
An altruist quick snack:
Both the director and assistant, taking notes:
Someone “turning off” for a moment:
Sparing nothing:
Some are on hold:
Around 15x20m of void, blank rehearsal space and the power of suggestion:
The acute sign of tiredness, surfacing on someone’s cheek:
3. The talk
All moved to a nearby office. A large meeting table replaced the stage. Last moment gestures:
